Salted Butterscotch Latte with Tim Tam Slam (Tips for the BEST Tim Tam Slams)

Ingredients

Salted Butterscotch Sauce

  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp corn syrup
  • ½ cup cream
  • 2 tbsp water
  • ¼ tsp sea salt
  • 2 tsp vanilla bean paste
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter

Salted Butterscotch Latte

  • 1 shot of espresso with moka pot or espresso machine or ¼ cup very strong coffee
  • Warm milk or half and half to top up
  • Butterscotch sauce to taste
  • Tim Tam biscuits

Instructions

  • Place the brown sugar, corn syrup, 2 tbsp cream, 2 tbsp water and sea salt in a saucepan. Heat the mix over medium heat until the sugar dissolves completely and the mix comes to a boil.
  • Reduce the heat and simmer for about 5-6 minutes.
  • Add the vanilla bean paste, butter and rest of the cream and whisk until well incorporated. Bring to a simmer, and simmer for another 5 minutes over low medium heat.
  • Place the sugar syrup in a bottle and let it cool.
  • Store in the fridge and use as needed.

Salted Butterscotch Latte

  • Froth warm milk using a frother, or shake the milk in a sealable glass jar until frothy.
  • Add an espresso shot to a 6-8 oz cup. Top it with milk and froth and sweeten with butterscotch syrup.
  • Serve with Tim Tam biscuits.

Tim Tam Slam

  • Bite off 2 diagonally opposite corners of a Tim Tam. Dunk one end in the drink and sip the drink THROUGH the Tim Tam, until the biscuit is soaked through. Repeat as needed. Enjoy (I know you will)!
