This gorgeous and refreshing Ginger Rose Fizz is made with rose syrup, lemon juice, ginger juice and club soda, and has a beautiful spicy and floral flavor profile.
Perfect as a Valentine’s Day recipe for a rose cocktail or mocktail, or for any celebratory moment in your life!
I had been meaning to share this gorgeous rose cocktail in time for Valentine’s day this year with my lovely readers, but you know how it goes… it’s February 22nd and valentine’s day is firmly in the rear-view mirror now.
But better late than never, and there’s always a time for this beautiful Blushing Ginger Rose Fizz (Rose Cocktail) in my opinion! Like a birthday for example, and mine just happened to be yesterday! So I may or may not have woken up this morning with a slight hangover. 😉
Serve as a rose cocktail or mocktail
This is a really fun, colorful and refreshing drink that’s perfect for serving guests at a party, or for any celebratory moment in your life. And it’s the perfect valentine’s day drink too of course.
You can make it into a rose cocktail with the mere addition of vodka (or gin; like I did here with this strawberry lemonade that uses rose water as well), or it can also be served as a non alcoholic gourmet sparkling drink. I’m really crushing on floral flavors these days and the result was this spectacular ginger rose fizz! 🙂
It’s made with a refreshing rose syrup (made with rose water), The same syrup that I also used to make this Falooda recipe – a popular South Asian milkshake!
I also garnished it with edible flowers too (see here on how to make edible fondant rose petals!).
The base for this ginger rose fizz is a rose syrup, and I used the plain AND the vanilla rose syrup that I previously shared here. While this ginger rose fizz takes on the color of the lemon and ginger juice (a pale yellow to colorless), you can use a colored rose syrup which gives that pretty pink hue and color gradient.
I also liked the flavor of the vanilla rose syrup more than the plain rose syrup as the vanilla obviously adds another layer of subtle flavor.
If not pink/red, you’re more than welcome to make this ginger rose cocktail in any color you want by using coloring of your choice. Another option is to add a few drops of GRENADINE to get a more subtle pink color without using food coloring.
Two ways to make this floral rose drink (or rose cocktail)
- Add ginger juice (you can either buy unsweetened ginger juice, or make you own with a juicer), lemon juice and rose syrup in a glass and then top it all up with ice and CLUB SODA.
- OR, add lemon juice and rose syrup in a glass, and top it with ice and GINGER BEER.
How to prepare the ginger rose fizz drink (or rose cocktail) ahead of time for a crowd
- If you’re using club soda – you can mix rose syrup : ginger juice : lemon Juice together in a 2 : 1 : 1 ratio, and store it in the fridge.
- If you’re using ginger beer – you can mix rose syrup and lemon juice at 2 : 1, and store it in the fridge.
If you’re making a floral rose cocktail, then make sure you add vodka or a beautiful floral gin. You can serve this as a sparkling cocktail OR without the club soda, in an old fashioned glass or cocktail glass.
The base flavors of this ginger rose fizz (rose, ginger and lemon) work so well together, so you can serve this drink however you like and still get a nice artisan mocktail.
Because of the beautiful pink hues and the refreshing, spicy and floral flavor combination, it makes for a delicious Valentine’s Day drink with a twist!

Hi, Dini!
If wanted to make a gallon of this ( for a party), would it be acceptable to use frozen lemonade concentrate instead, and the ginger beer. And for the rose syrup- how much would that be?
Dini says
Hi Carlyn
I’m sorry for late reply!
You can make changes to the recipe if you like, to make it easier for you! I’m unsure how much lemonade concentrate to add to substitute fresh lemon juice though.
You can absolutely use ginger beer instead of ginger juice and club soda as well. My recommendation for testing if substitutions will work is to make one or two drinks and see if anything needs to be adjusted first. Too much ginger beer will dilute the other flavors, so you will have to test it to see how much is required for a balance.
Also, gingerbeed should be added at the end, as otherwise the carbonation will go flat too. So these elements must be tested in advance to make sure you can get the right balance, especially since the ingredients are being changed AND you will be making a much larger batch than the recipe.
I hope that helps!

Hi Dini,
I have an event coming up in a few days and I want to know how to alter this recipe when using the strawberry lemonade recipe?
